JADEN ISLER - DIRECTOR OF MGBASKETBALL 

Jaden currently serves as the Director of MGBasketball Instruction.  Prior to his time with MGBasketball, Isler served as the head basketball coach at Clovis HS (NM).  He immediately helped rebuild the program winning 20+ games in his first two seasons as head coach.  In 2019-20, he led Clovis back to the state quarterfinals finishing with a 21-8 record.   Isler began his high school coaching career at Elida HS (NM).  He won four consecutive state championships during his time at Elida.  In 2018, he was named the USA Today New Mexico Coach of the Year.  Prior to his time in the high school ranks, Isler served as an assistant coach at Wayland Baptist University.  At Wayland, Isler helped recruit and develop seven all-conference players and two all-americans.  

During his playing career, Isler was a two-time all-conference player at McMurry University.   He led the War Hawks to back to back ASC Championships and two NCAA National Tournament appearances.  Isler was also a four year all-state point guard at Clovis HS (NM).  During his senior season, he was named the Gatorade New Mexico High School Player of the Year.

MATT SAYMAN - DIRECTOR OF EVENTS 

 

HOST OF THE JAMODI PODCAST

Matt serves as the Director of MGBasketball summer events.  Along with serving as the head boys basketball coach at Grapevine Faith High School. Matt is a nationally known speaker and author.  Sayman released his book titled, The Leftovers: Basketball, Betrayal, Baylor & Beyond, describing his journey to college athletics. It’s a remarkable story of personal loss, tragedy and perseverance through his senior season at Baylor University.  Matt’s teams at Grapevine Faith High School have become well known for their offensive accomplishments, including leading the the nation in 3-point field goals made each of the last two years.

Matt was a three-year letterman at The Colony High School in The Colony, Texas. He was also a two-year Team MVP, elected Honorable Mention All-USA by USA Today, and a McDonald’s All-American nominee as a senior. He was the ninth-ranked recruit in the state by Texas Hoops and also received District 5-5A MVP following a stellar senior season. Other high school accolades include being selected Second-Team All-State and First-Team All-Region 1 by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.  After his high school career, Matt signed a scholarship with Baylor University where he played all four years. He was a valuable member of his college team and contributed in many ways both on and off the court. While playing at Baylor, he set the record for the most games played in Baylor history – 118 games.  After college, Matt played professionally in Iceland, winning the Icelandic championship for Njardvik in 2005.

Matt lives in Keller, Texas, with his wife, Jana, and their two sons, Landon and Cade.

His life motto is “Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.”

 BRIAN WANAMAKER - LEAD CLINICIAN / DEVELOPMENT TEAM COACH

Brian currently serves as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Texas Wesleyan University.   Prior to his coaching career, he played professional basketball overseas for eight seasons overseas.  His successful career included time in Lithuania and Germany.  His career also included a stint in the NBA G-League with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.   After stops at Central Connecticut University and Lon Morris College, Brian finished his college career at Texas Wesleyan University where he was named a NAIA All American his senior season.

JD ROBINSON - DIRECTOR / ALEDO GYM RATS PROGRAM

JD Robinson is a native of Mineral Wells, TX and graduated in 2003 from Mineral Wells High School. Robinson then continued his playing career at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. While at Tarleton State, he was a part of two Lonestar Conference Championships, two Regional Championships, two Elite Eights and one Final Four.

After playing, Robinson coached as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations at Tarleton State University for a year and a half under head coach Lonn Reisman. Robinson was in charge of player development and high school recruiting. During this time, Robinson learned and developed great skills to teach young student athletes to become not only great basketball players but great young men as well.

Robinson’s first high school job was in 2009 as the varsity assistant at Byron Nelson High School in Northwest Independent School District. While at Byron Nelson, Robinson helped build a 50-7 home record over the first four varsity seasons and win over a hundred games. He helped lead the Bobcats to a regional finals appearance in 2012, two district championships and four playoff appearances.

After his five year stint at Byron Nelson High School, Robinson accepted his first head coaching position at Benbrook High School in Fort Worth ISD. He again had the opportunity to build a program from the ground up. Robinson’s team made the first playoff appearance ever in the school’s history and he was able to build a culture of winning that is continuing.

Robinson is currently the head basketball coach at Aledo High School.  He has rebuilt the program and led the Bearcats to the state playoffs in 2021 and 2022.  Robinson has been instrumental in building and developing a new youth movement for basketball in Aledo that will vastly improve the culture here for many years to come.

 VERONICA SNOW - EVENT COORDINATOR

Veronica currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Angelo State University.   Prior to her time at Angelo State University, Coach Snow served as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at McMurry University.  Snow produced a career coaching record of 114-77 at McMurry over her seven seasons.

Prior to taking over as head women's basketball coach at McMurry, Snow spent six years at Hardin-Simmons where she was an assistant professor of fitness and sports sciences. Her previous head coaching experience came at the high school level from 1993-1996 where she served as the Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach at Merkel High School. She was also an assistant under Nichols at Abilene High School from 1987-1993.

SHAD REED - ELITE POST & GUARD SCHOOL COORDINATOR

 Shad has been in education for 20 years and is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Vega High School. For 13 years, he was a Head Basketball coach at three schools where he amassed over 250 wins. He spent the last seven years of his coaching career in Franklin where his teams made deep playoff runs and   compiled an overall record of 156-49. He is currently the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Callisburg High School.  He was formerly an administrator at Nazareth I.S.D. and Martin's Mill I.S.D. Throughout his career he has served on the Texas Association of Basketball coaches board of directors and has served on the basketball advisory   committee for THSCA. He is also actively involved in developing youth through Christ, character, and sports. He started Rycore Athletics in 2011 and has   conducted numerous camps throughout the state. Coach Reed also serves on the executive board for Still Creek Ranch which rescues kids from crisis   situations and provides them with a home and an education. He has also been actively involved in leading men’s bible studies and helped start IMEN   ministries in Franklin which serves the immediate needs of the community. Coach Reed continues to stay connected to the game by giving his time in the   summers and offseason to help players develop their game.
Shad has been married to his beautiful wife Keva for 15 years. Keva is a writing teacher at Martin’s Mill. They have two boys, Riley 13 and Kolden 10.

“Coach Reed has the ability to inspire kids to find more in themselves than they thought was possible.  Simply put, he makes an impact on young athletes that goes far beyond the basketball court."
